Richard W. DiBella

Richard W. DiBella is a 1973 graduate of Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Cum Laude. Richard DiBella earned his Juris Doctorate from the Duquesne University School of Law in 1976 where he was a staff member and a comment editor on the Duquesne Law Review. Richard’s practice focuses on insurance litigation, civil litigation, arson and fraud defense litigation and bad faith litigation. He was a founding member of DiBella Geer McAllister & Best, P.C., in 1995, then known as DiBella & Geer, P.C. Richard has over 40 years of practice devoted to the handling of property-related insurance claims, including fraud, arson, coverage, subrogation and related issues.

Richard is admitted to practice in the courts of Pennsylvania and Ohio, as well as the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the United States Third Circuit of Appeals. He is a past member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, and a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association. He is counsel to the Pennsylvania Insurance Fraud Prevention Authority. He was a 20 year faculty member of the NICB Academy, and a current member of the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies, Pittsburgh Area Chapter of IASIU and Pittsburgh Claim Association. Richard is a frequent lecturer to claims departments, law enforcement, insurance investigators, district attorneys, attorney generals and related personnel on insurance subjects related to coverage, fraud, arson, auto fraud and related matters.
